Mojave Desert Jackrabbit

A black-tailed jackrabbit in the Mojave, drawn in graphite and coloured digitally. The ears aren't for hearing so much as for cooling—blood runs close to the surface and dumps heat into the air, which is how an animal lives somewhere with no shade.

The Mojave Desert collection draws inspiration from the stark beauty of the Desert, where life adapts to extremes with elegance and resilience.
